***UPDATED at 10:56 P.M. On November 2nd***
Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident. The report states the woman knew the children and was joking with them about taking their candy. She then says on for the kids pulled out a gun and started cursing. The woman says the other child said he had a gun, too, but never showed it.
The alleged victim did not want to speak on camera but officers say they're glad she called them. We spoke with Captain MaryAnn Burgess of the Aiken Department of Public Safety's Juvenile Division.
There have been some tragic consequences to some of these cases in the past. Thankfully, this one did not end up in a tragedy, so we're thankful that she called. We'll be looking at their family situation to make sure we don't have any more situations of this magnitude with these little boys.
The boys were taken into custody for a short time, but under South Carolina law, at their age, there's nothing to charge them with. Officers say it's possible they took the weapon from a family member without them knowing it.

Aiken officials say a 10-year-old trick-or-treater pulled a handgun on a woman who joked that she'd steal his Halloween candy.
The Augusta Chronicle reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/sCv0B7 ) a 28-year-old woman told authorities she recognized some youngsters Monday evening and she joked she'd take their candy.
Aiken Public Safety Lieutenant David Turno says a 10-year-old in the group said "no" and pointed the handgun at her.
Turno says the gun wasn't loaded but the boy had a clip of ammunition. He was taken to the police station and was turned over to his parents.
Turno said the boy's brother, who is also 10, told officials he also had a gun and both weapons were recovered by police. Turno says the boys got them from their grandfather without his permission.
