Richmond County Investigators confirm that Deputy Jailer Stephen Viator is facing charges from a hit and run accident over the weekend.
The accident happened on the 2200 block of Windsor Spring Road on Friday night. The deputy allegedly hit a car and then left.
Viator has been charged with hit and run and reckless driving in the accident. Viator resigned from his position Monday morning.
