It's David Wells' business to watch what goes on around him. He owns Tunnel Vision Technology. Cameras are all over his house, inside and out. So, when his shovel went missing during the third biggest blizzard in Chicago history, he logged on to find out who the culprit was.
Voice of David Wells: "I saw a woman walking her dog, let her dog come in and do his thing. And, then she just kind of grabbed the shovel and I have cameras on the other side of the house and we watched her go and start digging her car out."
A neighbor he's seen around, but doesn't know, took his shovel right out from under his nose. Now, it wouldn't be so bad if she had returned it. David would have gladly let her use it, but to make matters worse, his 2-year-old daughter Mayson was waiting for daddy to finish building her igloo.
So, David did what any disappointed dad would do. He got out his snowblower.
Wells: "I got a little, I guess, passive aggressive. And, I got a new snow blower, so I was kind of excited to bury her car."
He walked back and forth and back and forth and literally buried her car in snow. The woman came by Friday morning and didn't seem really phased. Then, she got a brush and brushed all the snow off the car. Where was that shovel? it took her four hours.
Wells: "It felt real good, I'm not going to lie, it felt really good."
David got his revenge without being malicious, and posted it all on YouTube.
But, there is a lesson to be learned here....just like it's not neighborly to take someone's parking space after they've marked it, it's not neighborly to take a man's shovel.
Especially when doing so makes his daughter cry...
