UPDATED: Boil Water Advisory For Vaucluse Area Repealed

The Valley Public Service Authority advises the residents of the Vaucluse area that they no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by Microbac Laboratories. The results of this sampling indicate that the system is now safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.

A Boil Water Advisory has been issued for those living in the Vaucluse area in Aiken County.

Officials with the Valley Public Service Authority water system are urging folks to vigorously boil their water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking.

The advisory comes after the relocation of a water main. This alert is in effect until furthur notice.
