Unemployed Army veteran Alvin Greene failed to win his Democratic bid for the U.S. Senate seat in South Carolina, but he did pull in the majority of the votes in 10 counties throughout the state.
Greene's highest percentage of the vote was recorded in Allendale County. He garnered 69 percent of the vote to Republican Sen. Jim DeMint's 28 percent.
Another CSRA county, Bamberg, also supported Greene more than DeMint by a 57 to 39 percent margin.
South Carolina is composed of 46 counties. DeMint captured 62 percent of the vote statewide, compared to Greene's 28 percent. Green Party candidate Tom Clements came in with 9 percent.
