UPDATED: Accident Causes Traffic Slowdown On I-20 Near North Augusta

It was a slow drive through the two-state on Interstate 20 on Tuesday afternoon. A wreck on eastbound I-20 just before noon slowed traffic in the construction zone there.

North Augusta, SC -- An Aiken man is in the hospital after an accident on I-20.

A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper tells us 55 year-old Jack Johnson, of Aiken, was driving a truck when the truck went off the road in the construction zone near exit 6.

Johnson overcorrected and the truck turned over. He had to be extricated from the truck and was taken to MCG. There's no word on his condition, at this time.

The accident backed up traffic for about a half hour.
