Owners of local BP gas stations in the CSRA are worried that some customers may vent their frustration over the gulf oil spill by boycotting their locally-owned businesses.

"Are you avoiding BP gasoline?" I asked.

"-Yup"

This guy is fed up with BP.

"The lackadaisical attitude and not being prompt in taking care of the situation," one man said.

He's says he's done buying their gas.

"I'll probably never use it again."

Problem is, BP doesnt actually own BP gas stations, local people do. So who are they hurting?

"This is a locally owned company, we are contracted with bp to provide their customers with the oil of their choice."

John Butler is the president of MarKo Petroleum in Augusta, a company that's been around for more than 90 years. He's not a BP executive...he's just your local business man.

"We employ people who live here, we live here," he said.

So would boycotting his gas impact BP?

"It would take more than that to hurt bp, they would be hurting the community more than anything else," he said.

In fact, BP does more than just sell gas. their petroleum is used to make tires, sunglasses, and cleaning supplies. It's in your lipstick, your shampoo...and even in your toothpaste.

"Doesn't matter if it's BP, A-B-C-D-E-F-G," said one man getting gas.

As for this guy? He's just looking for a deal.
