Sharon Billups came to the hotel where ER Solutions is already conducting job interviews, with her resume in hand.
“I've been desperately seeking a job in the health care profession but whatever job they have available I’m willing to take one,” said Billups.
And ER Solutions is bringing jobs to Augusta, 400 by the middle of next year.
The company is opening its 13th customer care center.
“We are hoping that Augusta and confident that Augusta will be the crown jewel because of the people and the facility as well it's a state of the art facility,“ said Senor Vice President Casey Kostecka.
The facility is the old ADP building on Stevens Creek Road, having it in Augusta is one of the reasons ER Solutions is coming to town.
“That was very important having a building available that was ready to be occupied because speed is important,” said Terry Elam Chairman of the Richmond County Development Authority.
“The quality of the labor force is really what is helping us recruit these companies they love Augusta,” said Mayor Deke Copenhaver.
The call center employees will help customers who get behind on paying their bills.
ER Solutions works with companies in the cell phone industry, banking, cable TV, and more.
And for the company not only does Augusta have the right type of building available for this type of work, but also the right type of people.
“The education level the southern charm is what we are looking for and the personality of the folks down here,” said Kostecka.
“I do have southern charm I’ve lived in Augusta all my life and I did call center work before I’m excited about going in and applying,” said Billups.
Company officials say they’ve had more than 800 applications.
The first training session for employees will be August 16th.
