Fire investigators crying foul after 2 weekend fires in Aiken County. Even more suspicious... they were right next to each other. Count on our Fraendy Clervaud. He has the story.
Gloverville, SC---It was a busy Saturday morning for the Langley fire department. The volunteer firefighters received a call about a house fire at 535 pines street-- but before the could get here-- just a block away they noticed this house 463 on fire. Melissa Clark lives near this charred home and she says this is not the first time there’s been a fire in the area.
Melissa Clark “I know one happened that was just down the road so it does hit close to home.”
Firefighters believe someone may have set these homes on fire. Langley fire crews tell me it took some time to put the fires out but they could not have done it alone.
Lt. Scott McDaniel Langley Fire Department: “We had a good response time between us and out mutual aid districts. Graniteville, Bath, Beech Island, Silver bluff.”
Crews tell me both homes were unoccupied at the time of fire. Neighbors like Clark say these two incidents will have her thinking twice about the neighborhood.
Melissa Clark: “It’s just scary to me I have a family and we are just starting out engaged about to be married and this is just a little scary.”
