Martinez, GA -- Bill Adams, wife is in Haiti: “It's very hard. I've been emailing friends there, and they're all okay. I've got one email from a friend who said, 'our house is so damaged that we don't know what we're going to do.'”
Since the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, emotions have been running wild for Bill Adams. He and his family lived there for several years. But, what's even harder, is that his wife, Lisa, is there now.
Bill Adams: “I talked to her last night, right after it happened. She called me, crying. She said, 'you just won't believe what happened. An earthquake has just hit.' And, they were in a hotel in Port-Au-Prince and they ran outside and she saw the road buckling, she saw a church collapse, and there were people in there. They saw another building split. And my wife, she loves the Haitians so much that she was just in tears on the phone.”
That was the last time Bill talked to his wife. He says all he knows now is she's not coming home on time. Lisa is there on a medical mission trip, along with others from their Life Ministries Church, in Augusta.
Adams: “Well, knowing this group, they're going to get out and help do whatever they can.”
Bill says he and his children are relying on the internet to make contact, but more importantly, they're relying on their faith.
Adams: “I know that she's where she's supposed to be, right now. God has a plan and she's where she's supposed to be. I have faith, I have peace, but I’m worried about my wife, I want her home.”
Bill tells us there may be a chance the group can come home Friday, but again, things keep changing by the hour. Right now, he says he just wants to make some contact with wife.
