The warning signs are there....Drive Sober! Over the Limit...Under Arrest.
Local law enforcement says they expect to see a lot more drinking and driving cases during the holiday season.
Deputy Keith Warner, Columbia County Sheriff's Office: "The revelers will go out and throw parties at their house, or their friends' house and they'll partake in a little more than they should."
Deputies like Columbia County Deputy Keith Warner will be out in full force during the holiday season looking out for impaired drivers.
Deputy Warner: "People who drink and drive generally don't know they're impaired. They feel good. They think, 'I've only had a few drinks,' when in all actuality they are impaired."
When you do get behind the wheel drunk, Deputy Warner says it can be costly...in more ways than one.
Deputy Warner: "You have fines, jail time...if you do get into an accident, it also affects the victim you struck...and their family...the healing process."
And, Deputy Warner leaves drivers with this warning...
Deputy Warner: "That we are stepping up our enforcement, looking for the impaired drivers, and if they're caught, they will go to jail!"
Ashley Campbell, reporting: "Zero Tolerance?"
