Jefferson County Magistrate Arrested For Aggravated Assault

A Jefferson County judge is temporarily off the job after he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Sheriff Gary Hutchins confirms that Magistrate Murray Bowman was charged with the felony but is out on bond.

Jefferson County, GA -- A Jefferson County judge is temporarily off the job after he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Sheriff Gary Hutchins confirms that Magistrate Murray Bowman was charged with the felony but is out on bond.

Deputies were called out Sunday to an altercation they say involved the judge and other people.

We were unable to reach Judge Bowman for comment.
