Augusta, GA -- Augusta's city leaders are making plans to fix some of Augusta's history.
All that remains of the Confederate Powder Works is the chimney along the Augusta Canal.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) group wants to renovate it. The organization says it will pay for all repairs, about $200,000, if the city will turn over ownership of the chimney to the group.
City leaders hope to work with the group and Historic Augusta to make it happen.
