Augusta, GA -- Getting back with the Beatles...hundreds turned out Friday at the Augusta Common to hear the music of Ed Turner and the Number 9 Tribute Band.
The band took to the roof of an adjacent building, much like the "mop toppers" did, 40 years ago, in their final concert on top of their studio in London.
Turner's band plays for the love of the music, of course, but also to raise money for charity, over the years taking in almost $90,000 for the Humane Society, and child advocacy groups.
Ed Turner, Number 9 Tribute Band: "We like kids, we like animals, it's grownups we have trouble with, so we like to give the money to the kids, the CSRA Child Advocacy Council, Dan Hillman, so many people do a wonderful job making a difference right here in our hometown."
If you want to check out Ed and Number 9, they will be performing at the Imperial Theatre in August. Tickets are now on sale.
