Another Aiken County Top Ten Wanted Suspect Captured

According to Sgt. Dave Myers, in coordination with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office captured one of their Top Ten Most Wanted subjects Monday afternoon in the Augusta area. Allen Michael Johnson, 19, of the 1300 block of Bettis Academy Road, in Trenton, S.C. is charged with Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill, and the Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Aiken, S.C., November 30, 2009 -- According to Sgt. Dave Myers, in coordination with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office captured one of their Top Ten Most Wanted subjects Monday afternoon in the Augusta area.

Allen Michael Johnson, 19, of the 1300 block of Bettis Academy Road, in Trenton, S.C. is charged with Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill, and the Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Monday, after receiving a tip, The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office located and confirmed that Allen Michael Johnson was wanted by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office for charges concerning a January 2009 incident in the North Augusta area. Mr. Johnson was one of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Top Ten Most Wanted Subjects.

On January 8, 2009 Michael Allen Johnson approached a North Augusta subject, pointed a pistol at him, and demanded some money. The subject then ran from Mr. Johnson at which time Mr. Johnson fired his weapon at the subject, striking him in the leg.

Sheriff Michael Hunt stated, “Much appreciation to the citizens in the greater Aiken County, Augusta GA. area, that see these wanted individuals in the media, and report them to the Sheriff’s Office. These callers have made a positive impact with our ability towards capturing these wanted individuals”.

Allen M. Johnson is now being held at the Richmond County Detention Center pending an extradition to the Aiken County Detention Center.
