Type 2 Diabetes is when your body doesn't produce enough insulin to maintain a normal glucose level....allowing it to go untreated could be life threatening.

Many diabetics have to give themselves shots everyday, while others like rosie are on pills.

Rosie, " I don't do shots anymore, I take pills, but I wish I had paid more attention to what I was putting in my body."

She had a stroke and open heart surgery, and because of the diabetes she has changed her eating habits, " you're suppose to eat more fruit, vegetables, stay away from sweets and breads."

Rosie says she enjoys butterflies, but her family is her passion. she plans to stay healthy and active in order to create many more memories.

There's no cure for type 2 diabetes, but you can manage it, or even prevent it.

Start by eating healthy foods, exercising and maintaining a healthy weight.
