Augusta, GA—It’s hard to believe that Ray Whitfield is now 28-years-old. One of the greatest amateur boxers to ever come out of Georgia, Sting Ray’s professional boxing resume is impressive…but he wants to take it to another level.

The Augusta native has a new promoter, TKO promotions. They want to produce champions and Whitfield wants to win more belts.

The NABO flyweight champ has only lost once in his career, that coming to Omar Narvaez in a tough 10 round WBO title fight in Argentina.

Whitfield’s next fight is scheduled for October tenth in Houston. After that, Team Whitfield is hoping to bring another fight to Augusta.

WJBF News Channel 6’s Sports Director Chris Kane has more.
