Augusta, GA—The Augusta Colts aren’t officially closing their doors, but they won’t be playing football, next spring, in James Brown Arena. However, Colts owner and team president, John Scisson, announced he is planning on fielding a team in the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA), in 2010.
Last spring, the Colts finished 7-7 in the AIFA, just barely missing the playoffs, but had not secured a lease for the upcoming season.
The team is made up of several local players, including former Butler standout, Issac West.
Wednesday, our John Hart caught up with West, and got his reaction on the Colts not playing football in ‘09.
Along with West, every other Colts player on the roster officially became a free agent, Wednesday, which means they can look to play for other teams.
