Humantarian Bowl: Fresno State 40, Georgia Tech 28
Georgia Tech is another bowl victim of Fresno State, and for the second time. Clifton Smith rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns, Tom Brandstater threw for a score and ran for another and the Bulldogs beat the Yellow Jackets 40-28 in the Humanitarian Bowl Monday.
Carolina Panthers’ Coach Think’s He’ll Return
Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson has yet to address the future of coach John Fox and general manager Marty Hurney. Fox says he expects to be back for a seventh season after Carolina finished 7-9 following the season-ending injury of starting quarterback Jake Delhomme.
Chick-fil-A Bowl: Auburn 23, Clemson 20, OT
Auburn found a new quarterback at the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Freshman Kodi Burns threw for a touchdown and scored on a seven-yard run in overtime to lead Number 22 Auburn to a 23-20 victory over 15th-ranked Clemson Tuesday night. Clemson only mustered a field goal during its overtime possession. The offense struggled all night. Cullen Harper was only 14-for-33 passing for 104 yards as Clemson was held to 12 first downs and 291 yards.
