DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Two South Carolina NASCAR champions will be the featured guests at Darlington Raceway’s Historic Racing Festival in September.

Three-time NASCAR champions, Cale Yarborough and David Pearson, will take part in the track’s second gathering on Sept. 26-27. Also attending will be longtime sport promoter and former Lowe’s Motor Speedway president and general manager, H.A. “Humpy” Wheeler.

Yarborough was the first to win three consecutive NASCAR titles from 1976-78, a feat matched by Jimmie Johnson the past three seasons. Pearson won drivers’ crowns in 1966, 1968 and 1969. His 105 victories stand second all-time to Richard Petty’s 200.

Yarborough, Pearson and Wheeler will take part in question and answer sessions with fans.
