DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Three cars from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s museum will make the trip south for the Darlington Historic Racing Festival.

Officials at Darlington Raceway said Monday that all three cars competed at the track “Too Tough To Tame.“ The festival will take place Sept. 26-27. Track president Chris Browning said the machines will be on display for fans throughout the weekend.

The Indy museum cars include a 1950 Russo-Nichels Special, nicknamed “Basement Bessie,“ that won a race at the recently opening Darlington that year with Johnnie Parsons at the wheel. The others are a 1954 Dean Van Lines Special and a 1956 Wolcott Special.
