COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina kicker Spencer Lanning, who tied a school record with five field goals against Georgia, has been named a star of the week by the Lou Groza Collegiate Placekicker Award.

Lanning also pulled off a fake punt in the Gamecocks 41-37 loss to the Bulldogs. Lanning hit field goals of 21, 39, 22, 35 and 34 yards. He did have a PAT swatted away by a Georgia defender late in the game.

The Lou Groza Award, given the game’s best kicker, will be presented in December.
