According to ‘The State’ newspaper, out of Columbia, SC, USC coach Steve Spurrier says he will contact the SEC office questioning whether a piece of tape used on Alabama extra points and field goals is legal or not.

Columbia, SC—According to ‘The State‘ newspaper, out of Columbia, SC, USC coach Steve Spurrier says he will contact the SEC office questioning whether a piece of tape used on Alabama extra points and field goals is legal or not.

According to ‘The State,‘ the holder for Alabama used a piece of tape was used to mark the spot kicker Leigh Tiffin’s extra points and field goals in Alabama’s 20-6 win.

Spurrier commented on the tape in his weekly press conference.

During his weekly press conference, Spurrier said he planned to contact the SEC office to see if the use of a mark on kicks is legal.

According to the NCAA rule book, it is not.
