COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Steve Spurrier says he and his offense have more work to do if they want to have a special season.

As long as South Carolina’s defense remains as tough as it has been this year, the Ol’ Ball Coach could be in better shape than he thinks.

South Carolina won for the fourth time against Tennessee, 27-6, on Saturday night. It was the Gamecocks first home win over the Vols since 1992.

Spurrier was glad for the victory, which made South Carolina eligible for the postseason. However, he says his team was favored to beat Tennessee coming in so the result shouldn’t be a total surprise.
