COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Neither of South Carolina’s top two quarterbacks practiced much Monday, but coach Steve Spurrier expects them both to be available by this weekend’s game with South Carolina State.

Starter Stephen Garcia is nursing bruised ribs suffered in last Thursday’s win over Mississippi. Backup Reid McCollum has been sick the last several days.

Spurrier says Aramis Hillary and Zac Brindise took most of the snaps at Monday’s practice, but he expects to have Garcia and McCollum back taking most of the work.

Garcia is the only quarterback on South Carolina’s roster with significant playing time.
