CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Dabo Swinney doesn’t appear to be shaking things up with the Clemson coaching staff heading into his first full year officially leading the team.
Instead, the new coach will rely mostly on familiar faces such as Billy Napier, who on Monday was promoted to offensive coordinator. Napier will also serve as quarterbacks coach.
The school announced Friday that Kevin Steele was hired as Clemson’s defensive coordinator and Steele on Monday said he was happy to coming back to South Carolina, where he played high school football.
Much of the Clemson offensive side of the ball could change if C.J. Spiller decides to declare for the NFL draft.
Swinney tells The (Columbia) State that Spiller is “going back and forth” on a decision.
