The Georgia-Florida game is still going on…Urban Meyer just called a time-out with 3 seconds left…
Vaughn Taylor can breathe a huge sigh of relief. Thanks to his 2nd place finish at the Ginn Sur Mer Classic, V-T wrapped up his PGA Tour card for 2009 and also topped the $1,000,000 mark for the 5th consecutive season. While the money is obviously nice, I can tell you that Vaughn is not satisfied with just posting top-15 finishes and cashing in big checks. He’s one of the few guys on the PGA TOUR who is ACTUALLY more interested in WINNING tournaments and isn’t afraid to take chances on the back 9 on Sunday, even if it means risking a few shot shots and thousands of dollars in the process. Next goal for V-T is to qualify for the 2009 Masters. He’s not qualified heading into next year, so look for Taylor to play early and often once January hits…
At one point does John Daly look in the mirror and say, “It might be time for a lifestyle change?“ Sadly, we will probably never see Daly again in Augusta, unless he’s in the parking lot of Hooters selling autographed T-Shirts and hats…
I’ve had a few days now to think more about Georgia’s loss to Florida. The one play that sticks out is Mark Richt’s decision to try a first-half onsides kick. The Bulldogs had just scored to make it 7-3 and had some momentum going. However, Florida recovered the onsides attempt and scored a touchdown to make it 14-3. Richt showed a lot of guts trying the on-sides, but in that situation, I’m not a big fan in giving a Heisman Trophy quarterback like Tim Tebow a short field to work with…
The Hephzibah Rebels football team is one of the feel good stories of 2008. Next Friday, Coach Bowen’s squad hosts its first state playoff game in school history…
Why am I in 3 different fantasy football leagues?...As a proud graduate of Ohio University (Bobcats…not Buckeyes!), I will start giving Bobcat basketball updates. I mean, there has to be another Bobcat out there, somewhere in Augusta! My Bobcats have been picked by the “so-called experts” to finish 5th in the MAC East. Ohio will finish much better than 5th. In 1st year Head Coach John Groce, the Bobcats have their best basketball coach in place since the Danny Nee era. If you know who Danny Nee is, well, you truly are a Bobcat fan!...

After watching every single Atlanta football game this year, I’m officially on the Falcons bandwagon. Matt Ryan is the NFL rookie of the year and Mike Smith has a great chance to win Coach of the year…
I finally have HDTV and have one question, “What took me so long to get it?“...
Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Billy Payne announced the course will be shortened 10 yards for the Masters next year. I know, 10 yards, big deal..right? Well, take a look at the bigger picture. Augusta National will have the option to trim off more yards depending on the weather. I’m all for making the course shorter and giving guys more birdie opportunities. It’s time for the roars of Amen Corner to start echoing again on Masters Sunday.

Reader Reactions
When will you have a new post up?
I am guessing Kansas guy is happy today.. Missouri should be ashamed.
And as for toupee Bill Self and that squad, they are still lucky Coach Cal had no idea how to coach end game.
I am bitter since my Dawgs lost to GT. Terrible.
Speaking of terrible… Our Lynx… damn 8 straight L’s… time for Marx to go! No excuse losing to Charlotte tonight- we score first and then bam- 5 straight goals against. Sucks.
Just a bad day all around.
Love VTaylor and hope he finds some consistency next season. I have a feeling the winners circle won’t be too far away for Augusta’s finest gentlemen golfer next season…Don’t think gratuitious slaps at Jayhawk Nation are necessary now that hoops season has kicked off. Get the young Hawks early cause you won’t want to play them in March…Less Bobcats and more gratuitious references to the fantastic nudity in True Blood might expand your reader bases…just wandering how long it took you to hook up cable to your new HDTV…Rock Chalk.
When is your next post? After the LYNX got pummeled the other night I am guessing we’ll never get more coverage!
Just curious why is the King guy copying your style?
When did Larry King move his USA Today column to this blog? For my money, cheddar is king of the cheese world…Can’t deny that Scarlett Johansson is hot, but she’s no Brigitte Bardot…Now that global warming is upon us, is it wrong to burn your leaves…Without question, Seth Rogan is the greatest actor of the 21st Century…They just don’t make ‘em like Roberto Clemente these days…If there is a worse place in the world than Kentucky, I don’t know where it would be…Bora Bora is the best vacation location in the world…If there was an award for best blog, my vote would go to Raisin Kane…If I could ban one fruit from the food landscape, it would be raisins.
Go DAWGS!
Hey what happened the guy on here that was loving the Jayhawks… nice effort vs Texas today…
Go Stanford beat USC tonight…
Ouch.. you had to bring up the Dawgs again huh?
At least we did not lose to a bad Nebraska team.
I can’t believe Penn State lost- but I still see USC in the final game and that sucks.
I see your point on Taylor… read any of the Feinstein golf books (that was before he was mailing it in) and you’ll see some guys are just out there for a check. Personally I thinbk that includes you DLIII.
John Daly is a riot.
Agree on Matty Ice… how about Roddy White… my man is a stud!
By the way, we need better Lynx coverage.. c’mon stop giving them the short shrift!
Only a “few” guys on Tour are really interested in winning?? Come on Chris - that’s not fair. If winning was irrelevant to most rather than a few, we’d see a lot more fist pumps for second place finishes and a lot fewer first time winners moved to tears when they win. There are so many unknown guys out there (about 100 each week to be exact), who would probably pass on the big check in exchange for the win, especially their first win. You don’t think Tommy Two Gloves was more interested in winning last week instead of just cashing a check? Winning an event on Tour means the world to these guys - not to mention it opens so many doors and makes life far less stressful.
Problem is - the system is entirely driven by money. If you don’t get paid, you don’t play next week, or worse, you don’t play next year. So, its easy to understand why some players may play it safe on Sunday. There is some element of good sense that goes into it all don’t you think? Peyton Manning doesn’t need the money, but he doesn’t throw long on every play either does he?
If I’m 115 on the money list and I’m 5 back on the back 9, do I fire at pins and risk losing thousands and my precious spot on Tour? Perhaps, but perhaps not. However, to say there are only a few that want to actually win is an unnecessary cheap shot. Besides, you can’t win if you aren’t playing. And you aren’t playing if you don’t have your Card. And you don’t have your Card if you’re not making money.
And lastly, I do agree that the Masters has joined the ranks of Joe Major over the last few years. There’s no other course/event in the World where the viewers understand and appreciate exactly how strokes can be made up (or lost) on each hole of the inward half. The hoo-haa’s at Augusta National have have rushed to get their hot girlfriend the boob job she didn’t even need. Longer doesn’t mean better and the last few Masters are a clear indication of that. Besides, history shows us that this course has plenty looming out there to keep scores in check.
If guys are firing for the front of the green on 11 and laying up on 13 and 15, I’m not watching . . . sorry.
