Williston Chief of Police, Roger Kaney has been sent to the hospital and a suspect is on the run after running the chief over at a DUI checkpoint. UPDATE: The suspect, 21-year-old Demarius Smith, from Augusta, has now been arrested.

Williston Police are looking for suspects in a home invasion. On Wednesday, about 3:00 a.m., 3 armed suspects are reported to have gained entry through the front door of a mobile home with an L-shaped jack handle, which was left behind.

A Barnwell County robbery suspect is in the hospital Friday after an accident.

According to Investigator Rodney Pruitt, with the Williston Police Department, an armed robbery occurred at about 8:15 p.m., Wednesday night, at the IGA grocery store.
