Aiken County Brothers Arrested On Assault Charges
Authorities in Aiken County, two Aiken County men are in custody, after investigators say they tried to ram another vehicle off the road. the men are identified as William Henry Dyches, 41, and Scotty Michael Dyches, 37, who are brothers.

100 Year Old Tree Comes Down In Aiken
Aiken residents said goodbye to a 100-year-old resident Saturday. The tree that has lined Whiskey Road for more than a century, got the axe this morning. Public Safety officers say the limbs that hung over the road, were a danger to drivers. Traffic was detoured around the intersection for about six hours. Tree-trimmers say the process went smoothly, although they add it was a little sad to see the giant oak come down.

According to Sgt. Aaron Dowdy, the Aiken Department of Public Safety arrested a Columbia, SC man after he stole a car and fled, on Friday night.

Shooting Shocks Neighbors Who Use Odell Weeks Center
A shooting at a popular public park, has some people on edge. Aiken investigators were called to the H. Odell Weeks Center, Sunday, after a man was shot during an argument inside the gym.

Shooting Being Investigated At Aiken Recreation Center
According to Lt. David Turno, the Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting that occurred about 3:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon, at the H. Odell Weeks Recreation Center, on Whiskey Road, in Aiken. The shooting occurred following a fight in one of the gymnasiums inside the facility.
Goodwill Needs Your Donations to Replace Items Destroyed By Aiken Fire
Goodwill Industries’ Whiskey Road Emporium in Aiken suffered extensive damage during a fire, on Friday. Over 20,000 items of clothing and household items were damaged during the fire that broke out just before 7:00 p.m. The Aiken Department of Public Safety responded promptly to the call, and all Goodwill clients, employees and customers escaped safely before the first firefighter arrived. Goodwill is asking for donations to replace the items lost in the fire.

Many officers and deputies took a break from riding the streets, Friday, and traded in their handcuffs for hotpads. The “Cops and Lobsters” tradition is more than 10 years old at the Red Lobster on Whiskey Road, in Aiken. It’s a program that benefits the Special Olympics.
