Dr. Charles Smith, President of the NAACP is asking station Fox 54, WFXG General Manager Barry Barth to join the agency in expressing its outrage over the New York Post cartoon by forwarding a letter outlining their concerns and their outrage. A February 12 cartoon in the Post shows a primate being shot by two police officers with the caption, “I guess they’ll have to find somone else to write the next stimulus bill.“ The NAACP says that the cartoon, juxtaposed against a photo of President Obama signing the stimulus package is the latest in a racially insensitive pattern at the New York Post and Fox News.
