UPDATED: Man Shot, Killed By Deputies In Augusta

The GBI is investigating after a shooting in downtown Augusta following a domestic dispute. Terry Ramsey, 41, was shot and killed by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies during a domestic situation on Metcalf Street, in downtown Augusta. UPDATE: The two deputies involved in the shooting have been identified as Deputy Chadwick Plueger and Deputy Sylvester Rosier.

Tubman Middle School Burglarized

Richmond County deputies are investigating an apparent burglary at Tubman Middle School, after an alarm alerted them shortly before 3:00 a.m., on Wednesday morning. Deputies say the suspects ran, but a 17-year-old was arrested. They are searching for the other suspect.

Augusta Tries To Ease Detour Troubles

It’s the way to go to get around Walton Way construction, but the detour is taking 25,000-30,000 cars a day into the congested Medical College of Georgia area. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GADOT), starting on Monday, and continuing for about 4 months (weather permitting), there will be closures and detours on Walton Way from Dantignac Street to New Balie Street, and the St. Sebastian Way intersection with Osler Lane.

Nurse Shot in Augusta Reporting to Work

A nurse at Select Specialty Hospital was shot walking into the building on Walton Way, early Tuesday morning. Investigators do not have a named suspect, but think they’ve got him on video shortly after the crime at a nearby drug store. WJBF News Channel 6’s Paige Tucker reports.

UPDATED: CVS Surveillance Footage May Aid Hospital Shooting Investigation

A shooting has happened in downtown Augusta, Tuesday morning. The shooting happened at Select Specialty Hospital on the 1500 block of Walton Way. An investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says a woman was shot and wounded as she walked to the facility. The victim is reportedly a nurse. We have surveillance video from a nearby CVS Pharmacy that may help investigators identify the suspect.

Augusta Store Employee Nabs “Scarecrow” Bandit

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has identified two individuals it believes are responsible for a string of robberies across the CSRA over the past few months. David Jackson Jr., and Jimmy Fitzgerald Pontoon have been named as suspects in at least seven Richmond County robberies.
