Groundbreaking Held For Katie’s Pool
A talented swimmer and Family Y volunteer will soon have a special-needs pool built and named in her memory. 20-year old Katie York died last May after falling ill with viral encephalitis, when she was 17. She had been a competitive swimmer, but after she got sick, she made it her mission to help others with disabilities swim and benefit from pool time.

Georgia Funeral Service Planned For Peace Corps Worker
Services are planned Saturday for a Peace Corps worker from Georgia who was found dead in the west African nation of Benin. The service for 24-year-old Catherine “Kate” Puzey of Cumming is scheduled for noon Saturday in Alpharetta at The Sanctuary at Birmingham United Methodist Church.
Volunteer From Georgia Killed In Africa
A suburban Atlanta mother and father are mourning the death of their only daughter, a Peace Corps volunteer murdered in the west African country of Benin. Linda Stouffer has more on the death of Kate Puzey.

Impact Aiken Helps Those In Need
Some in need of help in Aiken County got it Saturday. More than 100 kids spent the day volunteering, helping those who are struggling through tough economic times. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more on their efforts.
