Dozens Await Swine Flu Vaccine In Aiken County

Dozens of people stood in line for the H1N1 flu shot in Aiken. The Aiken County Health Department started administering the vaccine at 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, and will continue until 8:00 p.m.

SC Schools Still Waiting For Swine Flu Vaccines

South Carolina schools will have to wait longer to get those h1n1 (swine) flu vaccines. Aiken County School District leaders say they are planning to allow the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) to set up clinics in each of their schools and offer the vaccine to students, but DHEC hasn’t received those vaccines.

CDC Concedes Vaccine Production Behind Schedule

A top-ranking official of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says production of a vaccine for swine flu virus is behind schedule and people should take precautionary steps to prevent its spread.

According to our news partner, ‘The Aiken Standard’, the Aiken County Board of Education voted, unanimously, Tuesday night to offer H1N1 (swine flu) vaccines to all students. The vaccine would be offered through the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), after the vaccine is received.
