Steve Spurrier Says 6-3 Record Is Good For Young South Carolina
South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier doesn’t even want to hear suggestions this year’s Gamecocks might have a late season swoon like the past two years. Spurrier pointed out Tuesday that the Gamecocks are 6-3, which for this year’s team full of young players is pretty good.
USC Safety Chris Culliver Won’t Play Vs. Arkansas
South Carolina safety Chris Culliver will miss Saturday’s game against Arkansas. Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier said Tuesday that Culliver’s left shoulder is still bothering him. But the coach also said he is angry the junior didn’t report how sore his shoulder was before last Saturday’s game against Tennessee.

New Report Ranks SC Near Bottom In Graduation Rate
A new report by the Southern Regional Education Board says half of South Carolina high schools are “dropout factories” and the state ranks at or near the bottom of the nation when it comes to on-time graduation rates. But state education superintendent Dr. Jim Rex says the numbers are wrong. WJBF News Channel 6’s Robert Kittle has more.

USC To Wear Camo Wounded Warrior Uniforms For Florida Game
Under Armour has announced Tuesday that they have partnered with the University of South Carolina, the University of Maryland, and the Wounded Warrior Project. Players will wear special uniforms with comouflage striping and numbers on November 14th.

Nick Saban: South Carolina Spotted Kicks Last Year, Too
Alabama coach Nick Saban says his kickers won’t use tape to spot field goals and extra points. South Carolina Steve Spurrier pointed out Leigh Tiffin’s use of the white tape to spot his kicks in last week’s game and reported it to the Southeastern Conference. He said Tiffin quickly put the tape in his pocket after kicking. Saban says Tide coaches have found that more than half of the SEC teams put something such as a piece of grass or mud on the field so the kicker knows where the ball will be spotted.

Giles, Batchelor won’t play For USC Against No. 2 Alabama
South Carolina running back Jarvis Giles has been suspended and won’t make the trip to play No. 2 Alabama on Saturday night. South Carolina athletic spokesman Steve Fink also said offensive line starter Heath Batchelor would also not make the trip. Multiple media outlets reported that the junior had left the team this week. Fink could not comment on those reports.
