CDC: Tainted Ground Beef May Be Linked To 2 Deaths
Contaminated fresh ground beef caused a possible E. coli outbreak that killed two people and sent 16 others to hospitals, federal health officials said Monday. Twenty-eight people may have become ill after eating beef produced by Fairbank Farms of Ashville, N.Y., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported. All but three of the suspected infections are in the northeastern U.S. and 18 are in New England, said CDC spokeswoman Lola Scott Russell.

Health Officials Reiterate Humans Cannot Get H1N1 From Eating Pork
Officials say so far, one Minnesota State Fair pig has tested positive for the H1N1 virus. But, even though the pig had swine flu, health officials say it likely caught the virus from humans visiting the fair. Officials are also emphasizing that people cannot get the H1N1 virus by eating pork. Karla Hult takes a look at what consumers are saying.

JBS Swift Beef Co. of Greeley, Colo., is voluntarily expanding its beef recall to include about 380,000 pounds of products because of possible E. coli contamination. A recall earlier this week involved about 41,000 pounds of products.
