UPDATED: Burke County Escaped Inmate Captured In North Carolina
The search for an escaped inmate continues, in Burke County. It’s been one week since the suspect fled from the Burke County Jail. WJBF News Channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has the latest. UPDATE: Jerry Lee Jones has been captured in North Carolina.

Search Continues For Escaped Burke County Inmate
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office needs assistance from the public in locating a inmate, which was a trustee, that walked away from a work detail Tuesday morning. The inmate, 44-year-old Jerry Lee Jones, who is 5’9” tall, weighing 135 lbs., was last wearing a white shirt and pants with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office on the back of the shirt.

Former James Brown Estate Trustee Jailed
Former James Brown estate trustee David Cannon is now in jail. Cannon was supposed to pay back about $400,000 to the James Brown estate.

Right Time For Rightsizing
Richmond County School Board Trustee Jack Padgett says “Rightsizing” could include closing some schools. With more budget cuts coming down the way it’s more and more critical. The basis of rightsizing according to this outside audit is academic performance and that partly means changing class structure, some magnet programs and that would lead to administrative cuts, too.
