SC Governor Sanford’s Driver Ticketed After Further Review
South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has found himself in another controversy. On Tuesday, the governor and his driver were pulled over on Interstate 385 in the Upstate, for driving 85 mph in a 65 mph zone. The driver wasn’t ticketed, initially, but after further review from the SC Department of Public Safety, the driver has now been issued a ticket. South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Dies In The Line Of Duty In Camden
The South Carolina Highway Patrol announces that a state trooper has been killed in a motor vehicle collision in Kershaw County Saturday morning. Jonathan S. Nash, 41, died Saturday around 10:00 a.m. on U.S. 1 in Camden while escorting a charity ride in honor of Trooper Hardy M. Godbold, who was killed in the line of duty in 1992.

SC Trooper Charged With DUI Dismissed From Highway Patrol
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announced Thursday, June 4, 2009 that Lance Corporal Lisa M. A pedestrian has been killed after he was struck by a South Carolina trooper on a Spartanburg highway. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office says the trooper was headed west on Asheville Highway in his patrol car when the man was struck Thursday night.

SC Trooper Goes On Trial In Crash Case
A South Carolina state trooper who bragged about a crash that sent a fleeing suspect flying over the hood of his cruiser goes on trial this week. Lance Cpl. Steve Garren is accused of using unreasonable force and depriving Marvin Grant of his civil rights in the crash, which was captured on the patrol car’s dashboard video camera. Garren is white; Grant is black. The case is drawing scrutiny from leaders in the black community.
