Construction On Interstate 20 Will Be Finished Early

Steady Rains Cause Problems Across The CSRA

Steady rain has been creating a few traffic problems across the CSRA, Thursday. And with more, heavier, rain expected, it could be messy out there. Drivers still need to be on the lookoout for pools of water and other hazardous driving conditions. There’s just a light rain now, and in some parts, up to 2 inches of rain has fallen…but it’s not over yet. WJBF News Channel 6’s Renita Crawford has more.

CSRA Motorists Stay Informed On I-20 Tangle Blog

Motorists now have one resource when it comes to avoiding the ‘tangle’ of Augusta highways. As the scheduled construction on I-20 continues through 2010, motorists will benefit from I20Tangle.com, a blogsite devoted to notify the community and its drivers on the most current construction and traffic conditions. The site, updated weekly, aims to keep motorists informed of any upcoming lane, exit road closures or areas of heavy traffic due to the construction on I-20 and Bobby Jones Expressway.

The Georgia State Patrol will participate with law enforcement officers across the country in Operation Zero Tolerance. The nation’s high-visibility enforcement program to catch impaired drivers begins Friday and runs through Jan. 4, 2009.

National Lifesaver Weekend To Begin Holiday Patrol Period

The Georgia State Patrol will kick off stepped up patrols for impaired drivers this weekend as National Lifesaver Weekend begins the Christmas and New Year’s holiday enforcement period. National Lifesaver Weekend is sponsored by Operation C.A.R.E., or Combined Accident Reduction Effort, a nationwide state law enforcement program to reduce the number of traffic deaths on our nation’s highways.
