The city of Augusta came to the rescue of the Botanical Gardens this year after state funding ran out. But the city’s financial troubles could spell trouble for the city park.

Augusta’s City Adminsistrator is recommending a deep cut for the Augusta Parks and Recreation Department. The director says jobs will be lost, and facilities will close unless Commissioners cut elsewhere, or raise taxes.
