Suspect Arrested In Deadly Walterboro, SC Drive-By Shooting
Police in South Carolina have charged a man in connection with a drive-by shooting in which three people, including a 20-month old toddler, were killed. ‘The Post and Courier of Charleston’ reported Wednesday that 19-year-old Danziel Chapman of Walterboro is charged with murder and being held in the Colleton County jail.

SC Toddler Taken From Home Found Unharmed
A South Carolina toddler taken from his home has been found unharmed, and police are searching for his father, whom they say abducted the child and assaulted the mother. North Charleston police said Tuesday that two-year-old Geomari Young was turned over to authorities by a relative of 27-year-old Geonaldo Young. The elder Young is a violent offender whose previous charges included armed robbery, assault and resisting arrest.
Boy, 3, Attacked By Lynx At Oklahoma Zoo Exhibit
A Norman, Okla., zoo has put up a new, solid fence in front of an exhibit after a 3-year-old boy was clawed by a 45-pound European lynx.

Police: Mom With Toddler In Tow Flees Officers
Police say a mother led officers on a high-speed chase with her toddler in the minivan. Paulding County police say 25-year-old Endie Rae Brumbelow sped away Wednesday after being pulled over by police looking for a shoplifter accused of assaulting workers at a nearby Wal-Mart in Hiram. Brumbelow eventually crashed her car in downtown Dallas.

Man Accused Of Slapping Crying Toddler At GA Wal-Mart
Police say a 61-year-old man annoyed with a crying 2-year-old girl at a Wal-Mart slapped the toddler in the face several times. Roger Stephens of Stone Mountain has been charged with felony cruelty to children and is being held without bond.

GA Woman Shot, Toddler Son Beaten
Police say a woman was shot and her 1-year-old son beaten during a home invasion in south Fulton County. Chattahoochee Hills police Chief Damon Jones says 22-year-old Nikki Neely was shot in the head during the attack just before 9 p.m. Monday. WSB radio reported that one person was in custody.

Owner of Dogs in Attack in Augusta Charged in Aiken County, SC

DEVELOPING: Mother Of 2-Year-Old Dog Bite Victim Arrested, Dog Owner In Court
According to Lt. Scott Peebles, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, arrested Jessica Lynn Chavous on a charge of Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree. Chavous was committed to the Richmond County Jail on no bond. The charge stemmed from a July 10th dog attack that occurred at Chavous’ home, on the 3600 block of Belair Road, in Augusta, when her unattended 2-year-old climbed into the back yard of a neighboring residence. Chavous’ son, Damien, remains in critical condition at a local hospital. WJBF News Channel 6 has learned the owner of the dogs involved in the attack, Shirley Barnes, is in court in Aiken County.

GA 3-Year-Old Critical After Shooting Self In Stomach
A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after police say he shot himself in the stomach. Lt. Rebecca Brown with the Clayton County police department says the boy found the gun while his mother was asleep Sunday night at their Forest Park apartment. Brown said investigators believe the shooting was self-inflicted.

A South Carolina toddler has drowned in a goldfish pond at a family member’s home. The Post and Courier of Charleston reported Friday that 18-month-old Logan Holladay died Thursday evening at a Summerville hospital.

GA Toddler Hurt In Hit And Run, Driver Charged
A 28-year-old Sandy Springs man has surrendered to police after hitting a 2-year-old boy with his car and fleeing the scene. Sandy Springs police alleged that Darrell Anthony Floyd Jr., struck the boy in the parking lot at an apartment complex.
