According to Lt. David Turno, investigators from the Aiken Department of Public Safety are looking for any information about a deadly shooting that occurred around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday evening. UPDATE: According to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, the victim of a shooting in Aiken, has been identified as 30-year-old Donald M. McCalla, Jr. of Princess Lane, in Aiken.

A Graniteville man is dead after accidentally setting himself on fire. It happened just before noon on Tuesday, on Avis Street, while he was doing yard work. WJBF News Channel 6’s Kimberely Scott has the details.

An accident in Aiken County has left one person dead. Coroner Tim Carlton says 42-year-old Paula Phillips was pronounced dead at her home, at approximately 4:15 p.m., on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses say that Phillips’ 13-year-old son was moving a car in the family’s driveway, so he and some friends could play basketball, when he stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake, as his mother was standing in front of the vehicle guiding the son.
