GA Supreme Court Tackles Unusual Motor Vehicle Case

It’s got four wheels and a powerful engine. It can hit speeds of up to 40 mph. But is a riding lawn mower technically a motor vehicle? That argument is at the center of an unusual appeal before the Georgia Supreme Court Monday seeking to cut short the prison term of a man sentenced to 10 years after he was convicted of felony motor vehicle theft for swiping a riding mower.

The Lutheran Church, on North Pleasantburg Drive, in Greenville, SC is missing a cross. Police reports state that a large red cross was stolen from in front of the Church, overnight Thursday.

Los Angeles Marijuana Store Robbed Of Pot, Cash

Robbers in ski masks got away with pot and cash in a stickup at a Los Angeles medical marijuana store. Police spokesman Richard French says three gunmen held up the Gourmet Green Room dispensary shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday.

According to Investigator Aaron Hannsz, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for suspects in the theft of items from the Target store on Robert C. Daniel Parkway. On May 30th, one suspect placed two GRS units into his pants, while another suspect was the lookout.

According to Lt. Scott Peebles, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has identified two individuals it believes are responsible for a string of robberies across the CSRA over the past few months. David Jackson Jr., and Jimmy Fitzgerald Pontoon have been named as suspects in at least seven Richmond County robberies.

70-year-old Graniteville Woman Accused of Stealing Train Wreck Victim’s Settlement

A 70-year-old Graniteville woman is accused of stealing from a victim of the Graniteville train accident. Aiken County Investigators say Minni Lee Jeff stole money from a victim’s settlement check. Her family says those claims are outrageous…but investigators want to know why $100,000 dollars is missing. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story.
