Afghan Policy Discussed On 8-Year Anniversary Of War On Terror

Eight years ago, Wednesday, U.S. forces went on the offensive against the Taliban, in Afghanistan…the first front in the war on terror after the 9/11 attacks. Wednesday, President Barack Obama will meet with his national security team in a broad review of Afghan policy, with big decisions ahead. ABC News’ T.J. Winick has more.

Key Witness To Testify In Terror Trial

The suspected cohort of a 23-year-old man charged with aiding terror groups is expected to take the witness stand. Syed Haris Ahmed was convicted in June of plotting to aid overseas terrorists. Prosecutors will call him to the stand Wednesday to testify against Ehsanul Sadequee, who faces similar charges.

President Obama Says US Prisons Tough Enough For Detainees

President Barack Obama says some of the terror suspects held at Guantanamo will be brought to prisons in the United States, despite fierce opposition in Congress. Speaking at the National Archives, Obama said U.S. prison facilities are tough enough to house even the most dangerous inmates. He criticized what he said is an effort to politicize the issue, and said he won’t do anything to endanger the American people.
