Steve Ensminger Will Run Auburn Offense
A day after firing Tony Franklin, Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville says inside receivers coach Steve Ensminger will run the 20th-ranked Tigers’ offense the rest of the season. And Tuberville says Ensminger won’t be a candidate to replace Franklin as offensive coordinator.
UGA Bulldogs’ Aron White Expected To Make First Start At Tight End
A fourth freshman is expected to join Georgia’s starting offense in Saturday’s game against Tennessee, and a fifth freshman may not be far behind. Aron White, a redshirt freshman, is expected to start at tight end after Georgia lost senior Tripp Chandler to a shoulder injury in its loss to Alabama. Another tight end, Bruce Figgins, also suffered a shoulder injury that eventually will require surgery, but he may play a backup role against Tennessee.
South Carolina’s Chris Smelley Excels At QB
Chris Smelley always thought he could excel at quarterback for South Carolina. He got some extra-special support from the Southeastern Conference as the league’s player of the week on offense for his efforts against Ole Miss last week.
