RAW DASHCAM VIDEO: SC Governor Sanford’s Driver Pulled, Not Ticketed For Speeding
The South Carolina Highway Patrol stopped South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford’s for speeding this week, but the trooper let the governor’s protective detail driver go without a ticket. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety’s director, Mark Keel, says after investigating the incident, the driver, who is a SLED agent, will now be ticketed. South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Dies In The Line Of Duty In Camden
The South Carolina Highway Patrol announces that a state trooper has been killed in a motor vehicle collision in Kershaw County Saturday morning. Jonathan S. Nash, 41, died Saturday around 10:00 a.m. on U.S. 1 in Camden while escorting a charity ride in honor of Trooper Hardy M. Godbold, who was killed in the line of duty in 1992.

According to a release from the South Carolina Department of Public safety, a preliminary number of eleven people were killed on South Carolina highways over the Fourth of July weekend which ran from Thursday, July 2, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, July 5, at midnight.

SC Troopers To Honor Highway Accident Victims
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is helping organizing a blood drive in memory of those killed in accidents on the state’s highways. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is one of several groups hosting a blood drive in Charleston on Friday.
New Signs, TV Announcements Aimed at Educating South Carolina Drivers
The state of South Carolina has put up new highway signs and is running public service announcements on television to make sure everyone knows about a law that’s been on the book for years. It’s called the “Move Over” law, which requires drivers to move over if possible, or at least slow down, when they come upon an emergency vehicle that’s stopped on the side of the road. SC Trooper Charged With DUI Dismissed From Highway Patrol
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS) announced Thursday, June 4, 2009 that Lance Corporal Lisa M. Lindler, of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, was fired after being arrested and charged for Driving Under the Influence and having an open container of alcohol in her private vehicle.

SC State Trooper Dies In House Overnight Fire
In an e-mail to WJBF News Channel 6, the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) announces that a trooper has died overnight in a house fire at his residence. Senior Trooper Andrew C. McInville, 26, died around 1 a.m. after a fire at his Timmonsville, SC home, located on Country Lane Road.

SC Legislature Passes Budget That Uses Stimulus Money
The South Carolina Senate voted 32-14 Wednesday afternoon to pass a state budget that includes $350 million in federal stimulus money. It also requires Gov. Mark Sanford to request the money within five days of the budget becoming law, either by his signature or lawmakers overriding his vetoes. Greenville, SC Man Wanted For Vehicular Death Arrested In Lincoln County, GA
A Greenville County man, who was the CEO of SDI Networks, has been sought after he allegedly drove his maserati into a Travelers Rest, SC home, killing a man inside. According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and our sister station in Spartanburg, WSPA, John Gilbert Ludwig, Jr., has been captured in Lincoln County.

SC Senators Wrapping Up Work on Budget that Includes Stimulus Money
Even though Gov. Mark Sanford has said he will not request $350 million in federal stimulus money for this year’s budget unless it’s used to pay down debt, state senators worked on a budget Wednesday that would spend that money anyway.
