Vermont Man Pleads No Contest In Son’s Hunting Death

A Vermont man who accidentally shot his 17-year-old son to death while they were turkey hunting has pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter in exchange for a deferred three-year sentence.

Jefferson County Man Arrested For Murder

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that, on Thursday evening, August 6th, 2009 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested 23 year-old Eddie Williams, Jr. without incident at his residence on Hudson Road, near Wadley, Georgia for the murder of his 52-year-old mother, Janice Williams, on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009.

Police: TX Woman Accused Of Killing Newborn Ate Brain

A woman charged with murdering her 3-1/2-week-old son used a knife and two swords to dismember the child and ate parts of his body, including his brain, before stabbing herself in the torso and slicing her own throat, police said Monday. Otty Sanchez, 33, is charged with capital murder in the death of her infant son, Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez. She was recovering from her wounds at a hospital, and was being held on $1 million bail.

SC Father Charged With Killing Son Appears Before Judge

A Coward man accused of gunning down his son over the weekend appeared before a judge Monday morning. Florence County Coroner “Bubba” Matthews says Dominic Lewis, 22, of Railroad Avenue was shot sometime Saturday night in the lower back of the head and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A mother accused of neglecting her 555-pound son’s health has been brought back to South Carolina after she was arrested in Maryland. Greenville County deputies said 49-year-old Jerri Gray waived an extradition hearing and arrived in Greenville on Wednesday afternoon. Her lawyer spoke publicly about the case on Wednesday, June 17th.

Officials Still Searching For Mother, 13-Year-Old Son With Cancer

Law enforcement officers are still concentrating on southern California and Mexico in their search for a Minnesota woman and her 13-year-old son…both on the run from court-ordered cancer treatment for the boy. The Brown County Sheriff’s Department has reported no new information, as of Saturday night.

NM Mother Confesses To Murdering, Burying Son In Playground Sandbox

Albuquerque, NM police say the woman charged with murdering her son and then burying him in an Albuquerque park smothered him on May 13, felt remorse and used CPR to revive him, then smothered him again. Tiffany Toribio, 23, faces a charge of first degree murder and several child abuse charges.

UPDATED: SC Mother Found In Maryland With 555-Pound Teen Son

Baltimore County police say a South Carolina woman accused of neglecting her 555-pound son’s health has been released from the hospital and transferred to the county jail. Police had taken her to the hospital after her arrest because she showed signs of wanting to hurt herself.

Son Excluded As Suspect In Aiken Teacher’s Murder

According to Lt. David Turno, Aiken Department of Public Safety investigators continue to work the murder of Ann Fox Smith, following leads and seeking clues as to the identity of her killer. Most recently, investigators have been working with the attorney of Larson Smith, and are now able to exclude him from any involvement in the death of his mother, at this time.

Congressman Paul Broun’s Son Charged With Drug Possession

The 18-year-old son of U.S. Rep. Paul Broun has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Police say Paul Collins Broun III was at a party at in Athens early Saturday when Athens-Clarke police responded to a complaint about noise. The police report says Broun smelled of alcohol, and a pill bottle containing a small amount of marijuana fell from his pocket.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said quarterback Jon Richt, the son of Georgia coach Mark, has left the team and intends to transfer. Swinney made the announcement Monday at the end of Clemson’s first spring practice session.

Report: Tiger Woods A Father Again

The world’s No. 1 golfer has reportedly become a father for the second time. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Tiger Woods’ wife has given birth to the couple’s first son. Tiger and Elin Woods already have a daughter, Sam Alexis, born in June 2007, the day after the U.S. Open.
