SLED Chief Lloyd To Investigate Why SC Serial Killer Was Not In Prison

After investigators confirmed that Patrick Tracy Burris, who was shot by North Carolina police early Monday, was the man responsible for five murders in Gaffney, South Carolina Law Enforcement Chief Reggie Lloyd held up Burris’ rap sheet in front of television cameras. Serial Killer Caught; Who Is Patrick Tracy Burris?

The man police have identified as the serial killer spent days “partying” in Gaston County while investigators searched for him. That’s according to the Charlotte Observer and NewsChannel 36, in Charlotte.

Bones Found In North Augusta Identified

According to Aiken County Corner Tim Carlton, bones found in North Augusta, SC back in November of 2007 have been positively identified as 51-year-old John W. Gustafson, of Augusta, GA. WJBF News channel 6’s Barclay Bishop has more.

Investigators including those working on the Cherokee County serial killer are waiting to remove a champagne color Ford Explorer in Gastonia, NC that matches the description of the one the serial killer is thought to be driving. An officer says that SLED is trying to get a warrant to enter the house. They say the SUV will not be removed until then.

Gastonia, NC Police Officer Shot and Wounded, Suspect Killed, Listen to Calls for Help

A North Carolina police officer has been wounded and a suspect killed during a confrontation after the officer responded to a burglary call. It happened around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning at a home on Dallas Spencer Mountain Road, in Gaston County, west of Charlotte. WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is now investigating this shooting to see if there is a connection to the Cherokee County serial killings.

UPDATED: SC Serial Killer Blamed For 4 Deaths In 6 Days

Authorities in South Carolina say they’re looking for a serial killer they believe has shot four people to death within 10 miles of each other over the past six days. Officials have now released an updated sketch of the suspect.

SLED: SC Governor Sanford Didn’t Break Law To Visit Mistress (FULL VIDEO)

South Carolina’s top cop says Gov. Mark Sanford did not improperly use state funds for visits with his Argentine mistress. State Law Enforcement Division Chief Reggie Lloyd said Thursday that Sanford did not break any laws. The governor’s spokesman says he does not intend to resign.

UPDATED: Cherokee County Sheriff Says Homicides Linked

Investigators say three homicides in Cherokee County are related. They say the suspect is dangerous, unpredictable and targets women. The Cherokee County Sheriff says he is not sure what the legal classification for a serial killer is, but three innocent people killed. They says legal have a tremendous amount of physical evidence that positively proved the homicides were committed by the same man. UPDATE: There has now been a 4th illing in Cherokee County.

UPDATED: Bank Robbery Suspect Shot And Killed, 2 Others Arrested

A bank robbery in Aiken County Wednesday afternoon, ended with a standoff, shots fired, and one suspect dead. It all started in Jackson, South Carolina. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story. UPDATED: Jackson, SC Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested After Standoff With Police

Investigators say one bank robbery suspect has been shot and another is still on the loose, in Jackson, SC. Aiken County Sheriff’s Investigators tell WJBF News Channel 6 that shortly before noon, three men robbed the First Citizens Bank, on Atomic Road, in Jackson, SC. Jackson police responded to the robbery and a chase ensued. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe reports that the third suspect sought in the Jackson, SC bank robbery has been arrested after a standoff with police at a house in Beech Island, SC with an AK-47. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton tells us the suspect who was shot by police near Kimberly-Clark has died. We will add more information on this developing story as it develops.
