The S.C. Department of Corrections is searching for an inmate who walked away from the minimum security Coastal Pre-Release Center in Charleston, on Monday. Vernon Edward Gardner, 42, was discovered missing from the institution about 12:30 p.m.

SC’s Operation SeaHawk Gets Federal Grant

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham says an innovative port security program that grew out of the 9/11 terror attacks will continue, thanks to a federal grant. Burglary Suspects Sought In Aiken County

According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary on the 500 block of Rainbow Falls Road, in Graniteville, SC. The burglary occurred on Thursday morning.

UPDATED: Escaped Inmate Captured In Aiken County

According to Josh Gelinas, the communications director for the South Carolina Department of Corrections the search is on for a minimum security inmate who walked away from Lower Savannah Pre-Release Center, in Aiken. Patrick Frazier, 22, was confirmed missing from the minimum security institution on Wire Road at 11:50 p.m. Thursday. UPDATE: Frazier has turned himself into the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

SC Governor Sanford’s Driver Ticketed After Further Review

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has found himself in another controversy. On Tuesday, the governor and his driver were pulled over on Interstate 385 in the Upstate, for driving 85 mph in a 65 mph zone. The driver wasn’t ticketed, initially, but after further review from the SC Department of Public Safety, the driver has now been issued a ticket. RAW DASHCAM VIDEO: SC Governor Sanford’s Driver Pulled, Not Ticketed For Speeding

The South Carolina Highway Patrol stopped South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford’s for speeding this week, but the trooper let the governor’s protective detail driver go without a ticket. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety’s director, Mark Keel, says after investigating the incident, the driver, who is a SLED agent, will now be ticketed. Beaufort, SC Man Arrested For Threat Against Governor Mark Sanford

A South Carolina man has been arrested after authorities say he called Gov. Mark Sanford’s office and threatened to kill him. The State Law Enforcement Division says 39-year-old Brian MacDermant made the threat Wednesday to a member of Sanford’s staff.  SLED spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons says Macdermant didn’t give a specific reason for wanting to harm Sanford.
