Coroner Identifies Three Killed, Including Baby, In Walterboro Shooting
The Colleton County Coroner has confirmed that three people, including a 20-month-old, died in a drive-by shooting late Monday night. The coroner identified the victims, as 45-year-old Charles Kittrell, 20-month-old Shaniyah Burden, and 21-year-old Chrsitopher Powell.

Richmond County authorities are investigating a late night shooting. At least one person was wounded. The shooting happened on the 1800 block of Hicks Street.

Hospital: Fort Hood Shooting Suspect Awake, Talking
A U.S. Army hospital spokesman says the man suspected in a deadly shooting spree at Fort Hood, Texas, is conscious and able to talk. Dewey Mitchell, a spokesman at Brooke Army Medical Center, says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan remains in stable condition. Mitchell says Hasan has been awake and able to talk since he was taken off a ventilator Saturday.

Fort Hood Shooting Suspect Asked For Advice On Going To Fight Muslims
The Army psychiatrist suspected of going on a shooting rampage at Fort Hood recently asked for advice on what he should tell fellow soldiers concerned about fighting Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan, a local Muslim leader said Saturday.

Fort Jackson Pauses For Comrades At Fort Hood
Fort Jackson paused at 2:34 Friday afternoon, along with every other Department of Defense installation, for a moment of silence in honor of those killed and wounded at Fort Hood on Thursday. After the silence, an honor guard lowered the flag to half staff. Then Chaplain Michael Kelly prayed on behalf of the recruits at the 120th Adjutant General (Reception) Battalion. Police are searching for a gunman who injured at least eight people at a downtown Orlando, Fla., office building. People are streaming out of the building and some say they have barricaded themselves inside their offices. UPDATE: The gunman has been caught. Police say suspect Jason Rodriguez surrendered about three hours later, after officers saw him through the window of his mother’s home and asked him to come outside.

Seven people have been killed and 12 seriously injured after a shooter opened fire on Fort Hood, Thursday afternoon. Fort Hood officials say one person is in custody, but are asking people to stay away from windows. UPDATE: A Fort Hood spokeswoman says one shooter is in custody after a mass shooting on the Texas Army base. Army officials say at least seven people are dead and 20 wounded. UPDATE: President Barack Obama is calling a mass shooting at Fort Hood a “horrific outburst of violence.“ UPDATE: Federal law enforcement officials say the suspected Fort Hood, Texas, shooter had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.

Mark McClain Executed, Victim’s Co-Worker Remembers Tragic Night
At 7:24 p.m., Tuesday evening…Mark McClain was pronounced dead after being executed by lethal injection…14 years after he shot and killed Kevin Brown inside a Domino’s Pizza on Washington Road…12 years after he was found guilty of that crime, and sentenced to die. Kevin Brown’s father died shortly after the murder, but those who are still around, and knew Kevin, they say it’s a somber day, like John Eckburg, a friend and former co-worker of Kevin’s. Richmond County School System Public Safety officers scoured a school bus involved in a shooting, Saturday night, on Monday morning looking for any projectiles or further clues into this case. The search turned up empty. WJBF News News Channel 6’s Paige Tucker reports.
