3 People Arrested As Aiken County Narcotics Investigators Seize Approximately $49,000, Drugs
According to Sgt Dave Myers, on November 9, 2009 Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators arrested a Langley, S.C. man for multiple narcotics and firearm charges, a Beech Island, S.C. woman for narcotics charges, and a Warrenville, S.C. woman for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspects are identified as Gerald Courson, 49, of Langley, SC; Lisa Smith, 38, of beech Island, SC; and Julie Hydrick, 23, of Warrenville, SC.

Aiken County Sheriff To Host Halloween Drop-In For Children
According to Sgt. Dave Myers, Sleepyheads, and Angels, will be among the characters distributing candy to children who trick or treat on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), 420 Hampton Avenue, NE, in Aiken, South Carolina. ACSO employees have assembled bags of candy, and in addition, ACSO Deputies will distribute bags of candy to children during the evening while on patrol Saturday October 31st, Halloween night.

Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Requests No Masks At Western Carolina State Fair
According to Sgt. Dave Myers, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) would like to remind patrons of the Western Carolina State Fair, which will be in Aiken, S.C. starting Thursday October 22, there will be no persons 16 years of age and over allowed into the fair wearing a mask of any kind. This reminder is for security reasons and the safety for all patrons of the fair.

Aiken County Top Ten Wanted Suspect Surrenders
According to Sgt. Dave Myers, late Tuesday afternoon, an Aiken County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Top Ten Most Wanted subject turned himself into ACSO authorities. Damian L. Curry, 28, of Ridge Crest Road, in Aiken, is charged with Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill, and Burglary 1st Degree.

Avondale Water Customers Testify In Front Of State Public Service Commission
Wednesday night was a chance for folks, who can’t make it to the October 6th hearing, to testify in front of the state’s Public Service Commission about the high water bill increase in the Graniteville.Vaucluse area. UPDATED: Clearwater Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
WJBF News Channel 6 has just learned there has been a bank robbery at the Regions Bank branch, in Clearwater, SC. A suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money, and officials are searching for him. UPDATE: We now have a release from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. UPDATE: Danny Lee Gant was arrested in Richmond County on Tuesday, August 11th, and extradicted to Aiken County on Thursday.

Aiken County Sheriff, Former Deputy Sued
A New Ellenton man is suing the Aiken County Sheriff and a former deputy. Back in September, dash cam video caught Jeffrey Nation striking a teen in the throat. That teen is striking back with a lawsuit. WJBF News Channel 6’s Joy Howe has the story.

A lawsuit has been filed against the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff himself, and a former deputy. Back in September, dash cam video from Jeffery Nation’s patrol car caught him striking a New Ellenton teenager in the throat. Nation was fired from the Sheriff’s Office, shortly after the incident. Now, the teenager is firing back, suing for personal injury. We have the full video online. Foul language is the only items edited on this video.
